What is the Secure Spaces ROM?
The Secure Spaces ROM is a device image based off of Android 5.1 with modifications to enable an enhanced multi user experience on the device. The ROM currently only supports Nexus 5 devices?
Will the Secure Spaces ROM work on any device?No the Secure Spaces ROM is currently only built for the Nexus 5 device. Do not attempt to flash this ROM image to any other device. However we are working on supporting other devices, let us know which devices you are interested in. Please visit our forum and send us some feedback.
How do I backup my current device and data to restore it?
It is recommended you perform a device image backup to allow for a full restore. To backup the device you need to install a custom recovery image onto the device and use the backup feature in recovery mode. TeamWin provides a Recovery Image you can use.
How do I determine ADB is working correctly?
First ensure your device is connected via USB to your PC and run the following command from a console without the quotes "adb devices". You should see the serial number of your connected device returned. If not your device may not be in developer mode with USB Debugging enabled. To enable USB debugging, on the device goto Settings > About Phone > Build number (Tap the build number 7 times, you’ll get a prompt as it gets close). Developer Options will now be enabled. Under the new option "Developer Options" select the USB Debugging toggle to on.
Device does not show up?
This is most likely a driver or connection issue. One common fix is to go to Settings->Storage, click the menu item and go to USB computer connection. From here, check Camera (PTP) instead of Media device (MTP). Then check to see if the device shows up.
How do I put my device into Fastboot mode?
There are two methods to put the Nexus 5 device into recovery mode. 1) By connecting your device to a PC via USB and typing the following adb command without the quotes into the connected console "adb reboot bootloader". 2) The manual method is to power off the device, once powered off, then hold the power button and the volume up and down buttons at the same time. Hold these buttons until the device boots into the Fastboot (Bootloader) mode.
How do I check my device is in Fastboot mode?
First ensure you device is connected via USB and run the following command from a console of the PC the device is connected to without the quotes, "fastboot devices". You should see the serial number of your connected device returned.
How do I flash the Secure Spaces ROM?
First ensure you device is connected via USB and run the following command from a console of the PC the device is connected to without the quotes. "./flash-all.sh" (for Mac, and Linux) or "flash-all.bat" (for Windows). You should see the device ROM being updated, once complete the device will reboot. The flashing and reboot can take up to 10 minutes to complete, so please be patient.
How do I know I have Secure Spaces Installed?
You will see a number of new apps installed on the home screen, such as Spaces Settings, Spaces Shortcuts, Spaces Navigator and Spaces Sharing. Also you will see a new background image as well as a new set of wallpapers containing the Secure Spaces logo.
How do I create a Personal Space?
Launch the Secure Spaces Settings App and select the + icon, select the create Personal Space menu option. Give the Personal Space a name and click the create button. You will now see the new space listed in Spaces Settings and also added to the Spaces Navigator. You can now switch to this new space.
How do I create a Space from a QR code?
Launch the Secure Spaces Settings App and select the + icon, select create space using QR code menu option, then centre the QR code in the camera window. You will hear a beep when the QR code has been recognized. Thats all, the space will be created for you automatically. You will now see the new space listed in Spaces Settings and also added to the Spaces Navigator. You can now switch to this new space.
How do I get a Hidden Space App?
Select Hidden Spaces from the our website menu and follow the links on the page to find the Hidden Space apps in the Google Play store.
How do I return to a Google Nexus 5 stock image?

How to recover from a failed flash with no ADB support?
If the device failed to flash and is in an unknown state with no ADB, you will need to perform a manual step to put the device into bootloader / fastboot mode. To do this power off the device then press and hold Volume Up + Volume Down + Power. If you have a recovery image flashed on the device you can use this to restore a backed up image or use fastboot mode to try and reflash Secure Spaces ROM or some other valid Nexus 5 ROM image.
My device is OEM locked, how do I unlock it?
To unlock the device you need to boot the device into Fastboot mode (see how to do this in flashing guide or FAQ). Once the device is in Fastboot mode, at the connect console type without the quotes, "Fastboot oem unlock". Also note unlocking the bootloader will wipe user data, so ensure your data is backed up before performing this operation.
